A Book?

I've been running this thought through my head lately, and I wanted to see what everyone would think of it. I've been considering writing a full book of my personal philosophy and perspective and having it published... Obviously, it would take a very long time to write and I would have to set up a very specific outline for what I would want to say, so that it doesn't turn into a book of rambling...

Anyway, what do you think?

Sounds like it'd be a neat project. (Who doesn't want to write a book at one point or another?) :D

The problem, though, is the publisher. Unless you're a big masters degree philosopher/psychologist, TV celebrity, or part of a political scandal, 99.9% of people (probably a lot more) won't consider, for a second, buying your book. And the publishers won't take what people won't read. Quite frankly, I'd be surprised if you could get something like that on the shelves.

My mom tried for about a year to get a children's book published, and was rejected time and time again, until she finally gave up. It's an insane business. Even J.K. Rowling had to fight and fight to have the Harry Potter series so much as glanced at by publishers.

Write your heart out, but be plenty aware that your chances aren't too good, to say the least.

Yeah.. the publishing part is going to be a little tricky, but it's not impossible...

It's extremely difficult to sell books to publishers without first having caught their attention through numerous published articles in respectable magazines.
