Well, last night was the first show for the Dance West production that the whole Harlem thing is a part of.

The day itself was grueling (mostly my own fault), but entirely worth it. I got up at five o'clock in the morning, went to WinCo got muffins, went to the school, set up the Muffin Shop, turned the Muffin Shop over to Jen for the day, and then got on the bus to go to the Newmark Theatre at a quarter after seven.

The Newmark is a really cool theatre. I really like the way it is set up. Also, their green room is so relaxing. It's not all fancy or anything, but it was really calming to be in there. I would recommend performing there if you ever have the chance.

Dress rehearsal was a little rough, but it went well for the most part. Around ten o'clock, the choir was sent back to ACMA on a school bus (the one that I missed by taking so long to change out of my tux). I took the MAX back to school. Once I got there, I stopped into the choir room for the Prom and Dance Committee party. Agonized about being near Hannah, ate a piece of pizza, and looked at Prom pictures.

Afterwords, I went up to Yambo's office to get authorization to sign myself out. He granted it, as well as letting me know that I passed CIM... I thought that I still had a persuasive speech left to do, but Yambo decided to score my speech at the School Board Budget Committee meeting as a CIM speech! I was so surprised to hear that! I basically tripped over my words trying to thank him. Ironically, I was about to set up a meeting with Sikking to have him CIM score a speech I would write for him.

So I signed myself out, then went back to the Newmark. It's kinda a weird thing for me. The choir didn't need to back until about seven that night, but I personally like being around for the tech rehearsal. During a couple of the pieces I went up into the green room and took a few naps. As I said, that green room was really relaxing.

Around half past seven, the show was starting, so we went to take our seats (we would get to see the first half of the show, since we weren't in it until after intermission). The show was really cool. I'll do a little better to describe the pieces later, but for now, I'm a little tired.

During intermission, we went back stage to wait for our cue. Once we got our cue, it was all good. Granted, we had our mistakes, but it was a well done performance.

And today, it starts all over again. Luckily, I don't have to be there until around seven or so. I will probably show up early (as is my nature)... time to take anti-hystimines...
