CPUs, RAMs, and Banks! Oh, My!

I might have just done something very stupid... I suppose it all depends. Basically, I got so fed up with my computer tonight, that I broke down and purchased a new motherboard, CPU, and memory. All in all, it cost about $200 total (which is about as much as I was hoping to spend). Just so happens, my bank account currently resembles that amount (although there's a reason for that, which I'll get into in a second). So, there's a slight possibility that I might not be eating for a few days, but at least I might have a functioning computer. I just pray I won't have to re-install my absolutely legitimate* and infallibly legal* copy of Windows XP Pro, since it might not like having the motherboard changed out on it.

In other news, I'm rather annoyed at either the postal system or my bank. My debit card expires... well, pretty much right now. Anyway, the bank was supposed to have sent my new debit card, at the latest, a week ago. Meaning, that I should already have it in my hands. However, I've been receiving relatively little mail lately, so I went to the bank to ask about the card. They told me that the card had definitely been sent out and had not been returned as if it had failed delivery. So, either my card was intercepted or someone has messed up records. It might even be issues with the process on the postal system's end. Considering they have the mail of an entire country to deal with, I can understand if something happened. It's just highly inconvenient. What I had the bank do was to cancel the card that is outstanding and send me a new one. They took my old debit card, since it's pretty much useless anyway. However, that made me very nervous when I tried to order the computer parts, since I wasn't sure if I could remember the card number or even if it would accept it. Luckily, there was an option to pay with PayPal (which can go directly through the bank account, if set up that way), which I quickly selected.

To change the subject (in a whole new direction), I just recently came off of my depression meds (that I'd been on for about a year). I got to the point where I was running out, so I basically tapered myself down, so I could ease myself off of it. However, I don't think I did it right because I am definitely feeling the effects of withdrawal. I haven't suddenly gone all depressed, but I've been all sorts of loopy and my head has been swimming off and on. The sensation is rather interesting. Basically, it feels like this pulsing of the senses and the pressure in the head. So, it'll pulse and for that second, I'm really disoriented. I was doing fairly well most of the last two days, but tonight it got a lot worse. Just before play rehearsal, my head was pulsing every few seconds. During rehearsal, I was struggling just to stay standing (not to mention follow the directions that Gary was giving me). Essentially, my body is very aware of the fact that there are some chemicals that are missing and it's telling me that it wants them back. Any prayers for a quick recovery would be much appreciated.

There's a 99% chance you'll have to reinstall Windows, sorry to say. It doesn't like major chipset changes.

Yeah. I'm just hoping for that 1%...

How are you feeling now? I've been praying. Getting off of medicine is never a fun thing. If there is anything I can do, give me a holler!

Thanks. Yeah, I was really hoping that I'd done enough to taper off of them, but, apparently, I didn't do it right... oh, well... at this point, I kind of need a lot of comfort (and sleep, which I haven't been getting lately due to staying up so late). It's always weird asking for it, though...

Oh, and I still have your book...

Be sure to let me know if there is anything I can do. Whether you just need some company or a ride to the store. As long as I am not in class or at work, feel free to ask!

Yeah, definitely! It's going to depend on what time, though. The next two weekend are the run of the play I'm in (which you're welcome to come see if you want to), so we'd have to work around those times. The showtimes are 7:30 PM (6:00 PM call) on Saturday and 3:00 PM (1:30 PM call) on Sunday. Anyway, let me know what you think...
