The Music Within My Shoe...

I figured I should update on what's been going on the last two days...

Yesterday, I went in to be an extra for a movie that's being filmed here in Portland. It's called "The Music Within" and it's a true story about...

"... RICHARD PIMENTEL [played by Ron Livingston], a brilliant public speaker with a troubled past, who returns from Vietnam severely hearing-impaired and finds a new purpose in his landmark efforts on the behalf of Americans with Disabilities Act. The story takes place over a 30 year period, beginning in the early 1960's.

"The Music Within", starring Ron Livingston ("Office Space"), Melissa George ("Alias"), Marion Ross ("Happy Days"), and Rebecca DeMornay (Risky Business)!"

Anyway, the scene which we shot was in a skating rink out at Oaks Park. It was set in the 70's and the costumes were definitely period. I got away without looking like an utter fool, but my pants and shirt were definitely tight. I had a strong yellow-striped shirt and light blue bell-bottoms. That and I had to wear some really crappy roller skates that were not very comfortable. As the day wore on, my foot started feeling worse and like it had a blister. Little did I know until the end of the ten-and-a-half-hour shoot that I did in fact have a blister; a blood blister the size of one of those pennies that you get smashed at amusement parks. So, I went to the trainer (as she's called on campus) to see what could be done about it. She was kind enough to take a scalpel and drain out the blood, as well as bandage it up. I still can't walk on it, but at least it doesn't throb with pain anytime something touches it or puts pressure on it.

Ouch! One time I bit my lip so hard that I got a blood blister on it. It was awful, and not nearly that big! But congrats on the filmy-ness!
