State of the Onion

Seeing as how it's my birthday today, I figured that I should probably do an update.

It's only fitting that it would be raining today. Defintely makes for an enjoyable day for me. Only problem is that it's hard enough that it soaks through my jacket, so I'll have to enjoy it from inside.

Last night, my family held a party for me at my mom's new place out in Beaverton. She made poached salmon (for which I promptly wrote down the recipe) and the usual dressings. My brother had invited about fifty people, but only Stephanie was able to make it. Nevertheless, it was good. My brother got me a mini crossbow pistol with a fifty pound bow. It can do some serious damage, so that'll be something I am very careful with.

Honestly, being twenty-one isn't all that exciting for me. All the things that are usually associated with this age are non-issues for me. Pretty much the only thing that I'll take advantage of, now that I'm of age, is being able to go to gigs in clubs or bars or whatnot. It's kind of annoying, though, because people keep saying they want to buy me drinks of some sort when I don't drink. My brother is taking me to sushi tomorrow and insists that I'm going to have to have sake. I'm going to have to find some way to get out of drinking it. Oh, well. At least the thought is there.

Anyway, there's still a lot on my mind, as of late. Not necessarily a new thing for me, but still...

Happy birthday wishes to you!

And, about the no-drinking, I support you. I've made it to 22 (and 3 months) so far, and still haven't tried the stuff. No interest = no temptation, no matter who offers.
Although, I don't have people really bug me and tell me I should drink. I just let them know that I don't want it, and for the most part, they leave me alone about it.
The only time I can really think of where people tried to pressure me to drink (and failed) was about 2 weeks before my 21st birthday, on a geology overnight field trip, the majority of the people sitting around the campfire-INCLUDING the professor-were drunk, and all telling me I should have a drink of the Captain Morgan going around. Umm...no. I told them no many times, with them trying to convince me to drink it. I could at least play the age card (even though a 19 year old was also telling me to drink), but the values card is the one that I held most firmly.

Anyway, again, happy birthday! Enjoy being in control of your mind; and remembering what happens the next day. X'D

Happy birthday!!

I hate sake. It tastes disgusting, that should be excuse enough to not drink it ;) And there's no reason to drink when you don't want to. It isn't like it's good for you. People are silly. Besides, that's why God invented Martinelli's.

I really wish I could have been there. It was awfully short notice though. I'm glad you had fun. Maybe we can hit up Taco Bell or something and have a belated birthday celebration. My treat.
Happy Birthday Friend!
