In Good Company

Yesterday was good fun. I had the pleasure of meeting aedrake_22 and Bri (forgive me if I've not spelled it correctly), who came up to visit for the day.

The day started out with tea and a little music at my place. We then went to the Portland Art Museum. There were about four or five pieces there that, if they had simplier frames, I could have easily pictured being on my walls.

After that, we went to Powell's, where we looked at cool photography books for a long time, and the Buffulo Exchange. I'll be honest, I felt a little out of place in Buffulo Exchange. I was wearing my standard nice ensemble (which consists of beige khakis, a black undershirt, and a forest green button-up shirt with long sleeves) and stuck out like a sore thumb. I did see some pretty nice shirts in there, though. However, I couldn't afford them. Well, technically I had the money to afford them, but I really should be conserving my money. That and one of them got picked out by some other guy. I'll just have to see if I can't find something similar at Goodwill or something.

For lunch, we went to Baja Fresh, which I finally figured out how to order the best burrito that works for me, and Mio Gelato. I was surprised to find a red plum gelato, which I certainly could not pass up. I was disappointed that they didn't have any raspberry, though.

Following that, we went to go see a movie, the Brothers Grimm, at the LLoyd Center Theater. However, when we bought the tickets, we didn't bother to look at when it started, so we had about an hour to waste. We decided to go over to the mall at wander around for a while. Among the more notable things were a four-way chess board and playing with the gadgets at Brookstone (btw, I beat a "twenty questions" game computer with Uillean pipes. It even had to add five extra questions and it still lost. :P ).

The movie was good. They did try to cram a few too many of the stories into it, but overall it was entertaining. Part of the movie reminded me of what Fangorn forest might have looked like as it moved in Lord of the Rings.

Anyway, I am so very grateful for aedrake_22 and Bri for coming to see me. All in all, they spent twelve hours with me. It really means a lot to me and I appreciate it a great deal. I enjoyed spending time and talking with both of them. I can only hope we'll get to hang out more later on. Thank you.

On another note, Happy Birthday jcpsweet!
