La Peña Go Down the Hole....

Well, I didn't post this earlier, but I recently had my job at La Peña organized right out from under me... in other words, they got rid of my position. Needless to say this pisses me off a bit, but I'm not all that annoyed.

It was a fun job (at times) and I did it well. Anyway, this is what happened:

A few weeks back, Connie (my boss and diva of La Peña) figured that it would work better if the cover charge were to go to the tab for the restaraunt instead of being collected at the door, as to make it "easier" for the customer. As soon as she said it, I warned her about it. Being the doorman/bouncer for the last four months has given me an incredible ability to detect just how devious people can be. I warned her that not everyone gets a tab from the coffee house and that money will go down the tube.

Well, a few weeks later, I hear from Troy that she went ahead and did it anyway, hence removing my position. So, I got to relax Saturday night. I only fumed for about an hour before letting it go. I can say is, "whatever". It is her loss.

Anyway, Troy comes home and gives me this news; fifteen people ended up getting away without paying. FIFTEEN!!! Even on my worst night and with tons of guests, I never had that many people not pay!!! That's $150!!! Well, I warned her.

I know that I shouldn't feel avenged, but it's so hard not to. The fact is that she deliberately went against my advice, and lost tons of money.

Speaking of money, Troy will help make up for my losses by paying me for random stuff. He gave me $20, so I think I'll be fine. It's not quite $30, but I don't care. I suppose I might want to find a real job, though. Hey, if nothing else, I have Bouncer on my resumé. Hell, I might actually be able to become a real bouncer... hehe... ... ... I don't know about that....

Yipe! Dude, yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if she called you and asked (er, yes, asked... not to be confused with "begged" or "pleaded") you to come back!

Don't ask why, but in your bouncer musings, I was suddenly reminded of this. :D
