Thunderstorms... Yuck...

This flurry of thunderstorm activity is really starting to get annoying. I love the rain, but I have a major problem with lightning. I'm not sure if this is something other people feel, but when there's a thunderstorm, I can feel the ionization of the air, which reaks havoc on my nervous system. Basically, it fires off all the signals telling me to be tense or jittery. So much so that the only way I can relieve the pure fantasy that my nerves create, I have to turn off as many electrical appliances as possible.

This is not to be confused with what's going on in my mind. In my mind, I know that the chances of being hit by lightning (just speaking of the electrical grid) is rare. At worst, the place might suffer a brown-out. I know that nothing will happen. However, in order to appease my over-reacting body, I turn everything off so I can have a moment of somewhat-peace.

Anyway, I'm going to shut off the computer now, so have fun. Enjoy the storms, those that can.

I love thunder and lightning! That's too bad you can't. I love rain too. This is great weather. Hope you feel better!

Thunderstorms are indeed odd things, but since I grew up with them, I've learned to live with them; although I still have a slight paranoia.. I still detect the same things you do, but they don't bother me as much as they have previously.

It's also a good thing to shut down the computer during one, and unplug the modem. My cousin's old computer got struck by lighting one time, and it just kinda killed it. Also, when the bowling alley got struck, everything had to be redone... So it's always wise to keep electronics off.
