I just finished an art project for a friend of my mother's. It's a charcoal illustration for a books she's writing. I must say that charcoal is extremely irritating to work with... no matter how hard you try, you'll end up with charcoal everywhere on your hands nad anything you touch. Not only that, but it's almost impossible to completely erase it. Frustrating indeed. Anyway, the title of the book is "The Shadow People", which is why I chose the title of this entry.

Speaking of shadows, though, I spoke of something that I called a "shadow sense" a while back. Well, it seems that the shadow senses have return. This time it's not the same thing, but it feels just as real. I think the funny thing about having shadow senses is that they are what my mind wants to feel. Anyway, enough of that... I'm going to move on.

Keeping up with the shadows theme, I have the shadow of a symphony running around in my mind. Maybe a oratorio is a better way of describing it. Whatever it is, it's powerful and I have no idea how I would write it. I would have to lock myself in my room for hours on end and... I guess that's not too far fetched at this point...

Anyway, I have to break the theme for this bit. I'll be able to move back into the dorms on the 26th. Yay! And classes start on the 30th. Yay! And I'm going to be the stick-wielding shadow that haunts the halls after 10:30 PM. Yay! (I had to tie it in somehow :P Plus, you never leave anything in two's... always three's.)

When working with pastels or charcoal, or especially colored clay that stays on my hands, I keep a box of baby wipes nearby to clean my hands before switching colors or touching anything to keep from getting it everywhere, since it's hard to clean once it gets on something and you can taint the colors by accident otherwise. Maybe you should try that in the future?

That's pretty cool. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Don't do that to people in the dorms. We will be reasonably quiet earlier this year but you have to compromise and extend the time to at least eleven. Preferably eleven-thirty. And ask nicely if we'd be quiet. Don't be a dick about it. We really respond well to people asking nicely. So just keep that in mind as you move to the dorms.
