Art is My Voice

Yesterday evening, I went back to my high school for their annual art gala, Art is My Voice. I must say that it was a very weird experience being on the other side of the whole thing. This would be the gala's fourth year, and for the first three, I was almost always a part. It's strange not to be so now.

It was also interesting to see how people have changed. One girl, Nicole, I could barely even recognize until she gave me a clue. After that, it all clicked and I was able to remember who she was. Harry has seriously slimmed down. They're growing up. It's kinda freaky. So many people have changed, except for Tyler (who was there as well). Tyler hasn't changed a bit.

I managed to pick up a copy of the Terranean DVD, which I will now add to my library of personal involvement. It's really interesting to see the differences between then and now. Hopefully, I'm a better actor by now, but even then, I was doing pretty well. They left out a pretty good blooper, though, and I'm not sure why. Oh, well.

The choir is doing well, now under the direction of Molly Scholz. She only came in the second semester, so for two months of rehearsal, they're doing good. Sadly, there are barely any guys. If I'm not mistaken, they have a bass and a tenor (from what I hear) and that's about it. Once again, the choir program will have to build itself up again. I'm hoping that it can gain the necessary momentum to keep it alive through several more years. Some time in the future, if ACMA is still around, I'll see to it that the vocal music program gets a good kick in the pants (apply the good implication of that phrase).

After the gala, I spent the night at my house before coming back on campus this morning. Now, I'm going to write up a review of Dana's recital and then go to brunch.

They have a bass, and a *tenor* (a girl sings tenor parts, in SOME SONGS)
