Concert Tour and A Missing Lung

Yesterday was the choir's concert tour. We sang two concerts in St. Helens and then another in Albany. I managed to sing through the first two concerts, though at various times, I took the liberty of letting others handle the part for me. The only problem was that after both performances, for the next few minutes, I was nearly unable to talk, so realizing that I was not in good condition, I reluctantly decided that, rather than lose my voice completely, it would be best if I sat out on the Albany concert.

It was an interesting experience simply listening to the choir. I've always been singing, so it's the first time that I've actually been able to hear what the choir sounded like. There was noticably a lack in the bass section, but I'm not surprised by that since I often feel like I carry the bass section. Plus, there were three other basses missing. I got to take pictures, though, which was fun.

Afterward, my brother, Tiffany, and I went and saw 50 First Dates. Honestly, I was quite surprised. It's much better than I ever expected it to be. The storyline is there and it's well developed. Personally, it's the best I've seen Adam Sandler do... ever. It does have elements of all his other films (such as Rob Schnider), but all of them work out and fit the film without causing too much distraction. Plus, I found it really cool how the movie ended (I'm not going to say what happened because I want you to see it).

This morning, I've been pretty much coughing up my lungs. It's not pleasant. Ironically, I actually think I'm getting better. I'm coughing less often and I don't have to cough as much to get crap out of my lungs. Still hurts like nothing else, though.

I've sometimes had to sit out from my choir and hearing them is rather...odd. It sounds so different when you're singing along with your particular section, concentrting on your part and only being aware of the other parts in relation to yours.

I hope you feel better soon!
