A Return to Fifth Grade!

Today was our picnic! rosemilk, Karen, fedupgirl, and I planned to have a little time to hang out at Schiffler Park! It was so cool!

So anyway, the day starts out with me (in leather trench coat) walking over to Safeway to pick up a fruit platter. On the way there, some guys are like, "Geeze you're crazy!"... I was a bit confused, simply because, while I can ignore the existence of heat, I can also feel it if I want to and it wasn't anywhere close to hot yet... grab the platter, hop on the bus, and go down to Beaverton TC to wait for rosemilk and fedupgirl.

fedupgirl had managed to reach me before hand, so she let me know that she had a car and would be able to pick up both rosemilk and me (it is correct grammar, I swear!). So, I met fedupgirl and we waited for rosemilk... and we waited for rosemilk... and we waited some more for rosemilk... Turns out, she was going to be a little late (we had called her house and got the report from her dad), so we went to pick up some cheap paper plates. When we came back, we waited... and we waited... and we waited some more...

All the while, rosemilk had shown up while we were off getting plates and proceeded to go on without us on the bus... so fedupgirl and I were sitting at Beaverton TC for about an hour listening to U2 (not that it's a bad thing to listen to U2) until Karen called on the pay phone wondering where we were. fedupgirl and I simultaneously (I'm going to spell-check that one) slapped our foreheads and then drove off to the park.

We ate chicken, a large loaf of really good bread, my fruit platter, and various other little things. Afterword, rosemilk heard the ice cream... van... and flagged it down. We ate ice cream and all was good. We talked and talked and tried to peer pressure Karen into getting a LiveJournal (hehe).

After that, we took turns on the tire swing... I must say that most hilarious thing to witness is rosemilk on a fast-moving tire-swing! She was having so much fun that it was infectious! After about two or three turns each, we played "King of the Mountain" on the balance beam. I held a pretty good record, but Karen kept kicking my ass every other time. That eventually degenerated into a small game of tag (in which I managed to outrun Karen and tag her). There were also a couple little kids who helped out in that.

We finally got so tired and went home. Karen drove me to my place where I am now sitting and typing this! I must say that I have not done most, if not any, of that since about fifth grade or so. I'm so worn out! I also appreciated this chance to hang out with my friends in a non-academic setting. It's the first time in a very long time that I've been able to hang out with Karen without either of us being stressed out. I appreciated that the most.

By the way, if you were wondering... no, I'm not stupid enough to go running around like a ten year old with a trench coat on. I left it in fedupgirl's car once we got to the park and then picked it up when I left with Karen. I may ignore heat, but I'm not stupid enough to ignore biology!

Mmmm... left-over cantelope... mmm...

Current Mood: peaceful peaceful
Current Music: "With or Without You" -U2

I chased an ice cream truck down the other day. Quite fun. I like the ones that look like baseball gloves. (random comment)

We played King of the Mountain. King of the Hill is just a really terrible cartoon. ;)
