Graduation!!!

Well, that's it! I'm finally out of high school! There was a lot that happened today... yesterday... it's a little late...

So, the day starts out at seven o'clock in the morning for me. I woke up and thought, "Wow. This is it." It's still hasn't quite hit me emotionally yet, it's still a thing that I realize and understand, but it hasn't sunk in yet. Anyway, I searched frantically for a clean white dress shirt... didn't find one (which is surprising for me), so I borrowed one from Troy... found out, I needed an under-shirt... didn't have that either, so I, once again, borrowed one from Troy... Then I realized... I still had about four hours until I needed to start worrying about getting there. So, I sat and watched cartoons for a little while.

Around eleven, I manage to fully wake Troy up, and start getting things going. I really love my mom because she was doing a lot of ironing. She's so cool! Anyway, we make it out the door around noon, and drive down to PSU... traffic was fairly heavy, so I started to get a little nervous. Anyway, this part's not that important...

The actual graduation... we all were led in by a bag pipe (the kid who played it was a fifth grader who is going to attend ACMA next year). The normal fun and festivities of the ceremony including a performance by the band (The usual set of that one trumpet piece that I can't remember the name of, Donna Lee, and Don't Get Sassy), the choir (A Parting Blessing), and a tap number (Low Key Lightly). The speeches were great and well done, but the main theme seemed to be that no one could think of how they could write their speeches... hmm... it worked well.

Then came the awarding of the Diplomas... after I got my diploma, I essentially went down the staff seating and gave them all hugs. I was so glad... Then on the way out, I gave Mrs. Tateoka a hug as she was standing in the side aisle waiting for us. We were then led directly to the desserts and such.

During that whole time, I tried to find people that I wanted to say good bye to and take pictures of/with... However, during that time, another thing happened. As I suspected would happen, I encountered Hannah. She actually came to me, instead of me going to her. Needless to say, I was a little surprised when she gave me a hug. So, I forgot about the speech I had made ready in my head and simply said, "Good luck".

I realized something when she gave me that hug. I realized that I'll never have to see her again and that it no longer matters. All that energy and emotion, all the toil and suffering, everything that I wasted in her name... doesn't matter anymore. It makes no difference. And when she walked away, I knew... I could let go. I can finally let go.

After the ceremony, I went over to Erik's for his graduation party... it was okay, was it was kinda slow and I didn't really know anyone. Erik then came over to my place for our graduation party. That was pretty high energy until the kids went home... they wouldn't stop asking Erik questions and they basically all scrambled for his attention. I tried to fend them off and let him have some breathing room, but there's only so much I can do.

Anyway, after they left, Erik and Troy did a little bit of jamming, and I listened. After all that's happened, I'm really tired and I'm barely awake... I just felt I should get this down in my journal before I forget to do so...

Class of 2003!!!

Oh, and...

Re: Congrats!

Hey, thanks!... full-ride? Oh, man! I wish! It was only a $1000 one, but that's still really cool... I'll be going to Warner Pacific College.
