Harlem!

Tonight was ACMA's third annual Art is My Voice Art Festival! I have to say that tonight was a smashing hit! It was great!

Everything seemed to flow just right (or close to it) and I managed not to get overly stressed (beyond normal levels). The choir performed wonderfully (minor errors accounted) and getting everything moving was easy.

After all the various groups did their performances, it was time for the big production of "Harlem Inspirations"! We did two showings of it, and it went off really nicely. There were two really funny bloopers in the second showing that were rather amusing. The first one was during Sophisticated Lady. The three dancer for that piece were all wearing silver (or sable as the poem preceding it states) gowns with slits far up the sides. In the middle of the piece, during a kick, Ally kicked the front part of her gown so that it flapped up into her face and she had to push it back with her head. The other one was during Sing, Sing, Sing, when Anna and Jocelyn were spinning around, Jocelyn push Anna off a little too hard and Anna got all disoriented. They managed to cover it up pretty well, but it was pretty funny.

Anyway, after that, I rushed over to the Palette Coffee Shop to play a little piano. I had no idea what I was going to play going in there, so I just improved a little. All in all, it went fine. saffroncisco was kind enough to give me a ride home...

Wow, what a night!!!
