Show Me God

Just got back, a few hours ago, from the Spiritual Life Retreat. I'm not always sure what to make of them because, at the same time that they are extremely helpful, they also add a certain amount of stress as well. I'm not talking about the kind of stress that piles up after putting off four days' worth of homework into four hours before class starts, I'm talking about the kind of stress that adds weight to the heart and mind. I came away, to some extent, wishing for more - not of the retreat, but of life in general. Sometimes, I wonder what it is that I'm looking for and sometimes I wonder why I look for the things that I do.

Retreats also have a way about reminding me of certain aspects of my life that I wish I could change. For instance, retreats often remind me how lonely I can feel, even when I'm rarely alone. It was this loneliness that added a bittersweet quality to one of the things that I really clung to this weekend; I find God when other's show Him to me.

Anyway...

Oh! and I picked up Mort, the fourth Pratchett book. I think it might be his best yet! I'll let you know when I finish.
