Turning the Tables

Well, I usually give plenty of opportunities for everyone to tell me what they think of me. I figure it'd be fun to turn it around for a brief while.

As previous seen on gentledarkness's and gundamfighter04's journals, I present:

THE MEME
(Actual title omitted for pointless reasons)

  • 01. Reply with your name and I will write something about you

  • 02. I will then tell what song/movie reminds me of you

  • 03. If I were to apply an o'clock to you, it would be...

  • 04. I will try to name a single word that best describes you

  • 05. I'll tell you the most memorable moment I've had with you

  • 06. I will tell you what animal you remind me of

  • 07. I'll then tell you something that I've always wondered about you

  • 08. Put this in your journal

  • Current Mood: amused amused
Current Music: "Maris Profundum" -Kenneth Edward Keyn

  • It's not actually a specific song, but there's an American composer who does remind me of you a bit. Her name is Amy Beach and she's actually the most prolific female composer. Some of her stuff is not as accessible, but most is pretty cool from what I've heard and listened to. The only major thing that's really different, is that she published under her husband's name, since being a woman composer had its particular difficulties.

  • 5:00 AM - Just early enough to watch the sun rise

  • Wholesome

  • Technically speaking, we've not had any moments together, being in different parts of the country and all, but I did very much enjoy the writing of letters back and forth

  • I have an image of a tabby cat napping in a windowsill on a warm day

  • I suppose I never actually asked, but what started you out in writing? What triggered that desire to create stories and write about it?

    • I've not heard of that composer--where would you recommend I start?

    • I love sunrises, but 5 AM is still much too early! : )

    • I feel like granola now!

    • And I owe you one back, too. Ch.

    • I've always imagined that, were I to be an animal, I should like to be a tabby cat. One of the soft orange ones.

    • I don't know that anything ever triggered it--it was just always there. For as long as I can remember, I've been trying to take the world and pin it down to paper. It's as much a part of me as liking olives and disliking Brussels sprouts is, I suppose!

It's tough to say. I haven't studied her enough to give you a really good start. She has some interesting vocal music that might be worth looking into. Quintet for Piano and Strings is what's given in my music history text and it's definitely worth listening to at some point, but I'm not certain how well it will serve as an introduction. Sorry I can't help a whole lot more at this point. However, I can do a little studying and then get back to you about it.

  • (Oops, I forgot the first one) It's not often that I run into people who seem genuinely whole. Your life, as "boring" as you've often called it, seems truly fulfilling and, to be honest, I sometimes wish that such a life could be the kind I live.

Thank you. That is a great compliment. And who's to say that your time won't come?

  • I remember that you were always very energetic (in a non-spastic kind of way, usually) and generally cheery.

  • Hmm... that's a tough one. Don't take this the wrong way, but perhaps something from the 80's (just in feel, not necessarily the music itself)

  • Noon

  • I will try to name a single word that best describes you

  • Well, as you mentioned, we've not had that many moments, but if my memory serves me well enough, I do remember that we shared computer animation class with Supak

  • A Lynx - don't ask, it's just what came to mind :P

  • What are your goals in life and have you thought about the ways you plan to reach them?

  • You're a very talented singer and your enthusiasm for the things that you like is both amusing and inspiring. While I'm not always certain about how to react to you, I do appreciate your presence in the music department and Warner in general. And sorry if I've offended you at any point.

  • Water Night by Eric Whitacre (because you probably wouldn't settle for less)

  • 9:30 PM (the appropriate time for a jazz concert)

  • Dynamic

  • I have to say, seeing you stand in for Bert in All My Sons during rehearsal was probably the most memorable.

  • A Snowy Owl?

  • (I've only ever asked this of one other person, but I'm starting to see the value in asking it) What's something that you wish people would notice of you?
