The Play, the Mass, and New Pillows

I just want to quickly thank the four people who responded to the meme I put up yesterday. Your comments really made my day, thank you so much. :)

So, this and next week will be filled with rehearsals for the play which opens next next week. This week is a precursor to what we affectionately call "Hell Week" (which is next week, the full week, that is absorbed by rehearsals and preparing for opening night). This week, we have rehearsals every night from Sunday to Wednesday. So far, I've had to be at every single rehearsal (because I'm the AD, an extra, and the music composer). I requested this next Sunday off (since I wanted to go on the Spiritual Life Retreat), but because of all the stuff I do, I can't get out of it. However, I found out today that the Spiritual Life Retreat will get back in time for me to make rehearsal, so I'll be able to go.

In other news, I made some progress on my Mass. With an idea that Craig gave me, I was able to take a part of the Kyrie and incorporate it into the Credo. Now, I'm able to move a little farther forward in it and I should be able to continue on. The Gloria's still stuck, but I think it won't be as difficult to move as the Credo was. The Credo has some very complex and difficult harmonies that made it difficult to variate too much, as well as a theme that is unusual (but very catchy, as I found my composition teacher humming it unaware). I haven't yet started on the Sanctus or the Agnus Dei, but I'm not as worried about them. The Sanctus will be fairly easy once I find the texture I want. The Agnus Dei might be a little difficult, but only because of how much there is in regards to actual text. Textually, I want it to be a little simpler than the other movements.

Also, I think I might have come up with a name for the Mass: "Missa de Clementia" (Mass of Humanity)©.

Anyway, I'm pretty tired. I haven't been getting much sleep, so I'm thinking I'm going to have to try solidifying my bedtime for a while. I may also need to get some new pillows. Another problem might be that I'm just stressed and I need to somehow find a way to make time to relax. With my schedule as it is right now, though, that might be a little more difficult than I would hope it to be.

No worries. I had to take off for Play Rehearsal, so there wouldn't have been much time a whole lot. Besides, you did say hello at least, so all is forgiven.

As for Poe, I never thought of that. You're probably right. That's pretty interesting...
