Last Night

Just a brief update of last night. I went to play rehearsal. We're exactly a week (from yesterday) until the Starving Student Preview (the first performance). Things still seem a little rocky and it's going to take the full effort of the cast and crew to get this thing together for performance. Anyway, during the first several minutes or so, I wasn't paying attention to where I was in the book, so I missed a couple queues to give lines. Then everyone else started doing my job until I had to tell them that I could do it. I was given a specific duty and I don't appreciate it when I'm not allowed to do it. Overall, the night was very slow and we got out a half hour later than we were supposed to.

Needless to say, I was very drain and I needed to unwind, so I went over to Stephanie's (I'm going to banquet with her) and watched Anna and the King with her. I then came back and went to bed. Despite the fact that I've only had about six hours of sleep, I'm amazed that I managed to get up this early. I'm normally rushing out the door to make breakfast in time.

Most plays go like that... it's the last week that things really come together, and they normally suck majorly during dress rehearsal, and unless something goes incredibly wrong, opening night generally rocks the socks off of the people who come to see it. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yeah, I'm well aware of that (especially from the last two plays). It just seems a little worse off this time... I expect that it'll be a great performance, though. It'll just take effort.
