Yeah, Another Update...

Today the Chorale had it's first concert. We sang at the memorial service of Tyler's grandfather. We sang "Give Me Jesus" and "It Is Well". It was a rather somber affair, but that's to be expected.

Today is also Yom Kippur (that's what the last entry was all about). The only problem is that I don't remember what you say to someone else on this day. You can't really say "Happy Yom Kippur", since the atmosphere of the day is atonement. I really wish I knew. I'll probably figure it out somehow or someone will tell me. Either way...

I don't know what you'd say, either! : )

I'm not Jewish, so our symbolism of the Day of Atonement is somewhat different...while we, too, fast from sunset to sunset, the focus of our service is that Atonement pictures the day when the entire world will be brought to God...as such, it's a very joyous, but restrained day, as we reflect on how much we need that and how far we have left to go.

The greatest joy, though, is reserved for five days from now, as we enter the Feast of Tabernacles...
